From past few years, ISACA has actively increased the opportunities to present themselves to make an impact on ever broader constituencies in the IT field. The CEO of ISACA, Susan M. Caldwell announces that ISACA has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the EC-Council.
This bilateral agreement between ISACA and EC-Council was drawn up to advance the information security profession, with special focus on certifications. Specifically, the agreement stipulates that ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification will take the place of EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) credential for those CISAs applying to become Licensed Penetration Testers (LPT). CISAs pursuing the LPT certification can instead take EC-Council’s Certified Security Analyst exam. In addition, ISACA will grant one CPE hour credit toward the CISA certification for each hour of the CEH exam.
This agreement is really beneficial to busy professionals who have the commitment and motivation to pursue credentialing to advance their careers, but have limited time to apply to it. Enabling those individuals to bypass a step or gain CPE credit for activities that previously did not earn CPE is a way to help them and help the profession.
